LED ZEPPELIN-JACK WHITE Rumor Squashed

The Pulse of Radio reports that a source has squashed rumors that WHITE STRIPES and RACONTEURS frontman Jack White was approached to tour with LED ZEPPELIN members Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham. White had reportedly been mentioned as a fill-in for Robert Plant, who has no plans to tour with ZEPPELIN despite the band's massively successful reunion gig last December in London. However, the source told the U.K.'s Daily Star that White was not involved, adding, "I do not believe you can have a band called LED ZEPPELIN, singing ZEPPELIN songs, without Plant."

Meanwhile, reports continue to surface, particularly in the British tabloids, that Page, Jones and Bonham are rehearsing with ALTER BRIDGE vocalist Myles Kennedy.

TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider, whose manager also works with Robert Plant, revealed the news in a recent interview, saying, "They're saying (to Plant),'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go, here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid."

Page's U.S. manager had no comment on the report when asked directly by The Pulse of Radio, while representatives for ALTER BRIDGE have also had nothing to say.

Speculation was intense after last December's acclaimed gig that a ZEPPELIN reunion tour would take place. But Plant himself recently said, "It's both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head."

There's no official word on whether Page, Jones and Bonham plan to record new music, or whether they'll even use the name LED ZEPPELIN.
